The Open Road is operated by Shane Lyne, based in Cork, Ireland. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

What we collect
At the moment, The Open Road is not yet launched. The only information we collect is:
Your email address, when you choose to join our mailing list.
That's it. We do not collect names, payment details, location data, or anything else at this stage.
Why we collect it
We use your email address for one purpose: to let you know when The Open Road launches, and to send occasional updates about how it is coming along.
We will not send you anything unrelated, and we will not use your email for advertising.
Our legal basis
We rely on your consent. You give that consent in two steps: first by entering your email address, and then by clicking the confirmation link we send you. You are not added to our list unless you complete both steps.
You can withdraw that consent at any time by clicking the unsubscribe link in any email we send you. There is no penalty and you do not need to give a reason.
Who else sees it
We use Mailchimp, a service operated by Intuit Inc., to store our mailing list and send our emails. Your email address is stored on their systems, which may be located outside the European Economic Area. Mailchimp operates under standard contractual clauses approved for international data transfers.

We do not sell your information, share it with advertisers, or pass it to any other third party.
Our website host
Our website is hosted by Vercel Inc. Like most web hosts, Vercel automatically logs basic technical information when someone visits a page, such as IP address and browser type. This is used for security and performance, and we do not use it to identify individuals.
Cookies
We do not use tracking or advertising cookies on this site. If that changes, we will update this policy and ask for your consent first.
How long we keep it
We keep your email address until you unsubscribe or ask us to delete it. If The Open Road does not launch, we will delete the list.
Your rights
Under GDPR, you have the right to:
- Ask what personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct anything that is wrong
- Ask us to delete your information
- Ask us to send you a copy of your information
- Withdraw your consent at any time
- Object to how we are using your information

If you are not happy with how we have handled your information, you can complain to the Irish Data Protection Commission at dataprotection.ie.
Changes to this policy
If we change how we handle your information, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If the change is significant, we will email you about it.
